Bohol, Philippines

Pictured above are two of the most popular attractions in the Province of Bohol, Philippines.

The left is a picture of "Chocolate Hills." It has been believed by many tourists that these hills are man-made. Well, I suppose one can say that these hills have been made by hands. However, they were not made by man's hands. Chocolate Hills have been wonderfully created by God's Hands. Yes! Chocolate Hills are natural geological formations! It is estimated that there at least 1,200 of these formations at this tropical site. They have been given the name Chocolate Hills because during a certain time of the year the hills actually turn to a chocolate brown and look like a mouintain full of Hersey's Kisses!

Side note: When you do visit Chocolate Hills be sure to bring some Hershey Kisses along. Your experience will be so much more gratifying while sharing the candy with the people of the Province, especially the children. The smile on their faces will certainly set your heart aglow. They love chocolate!!!

Next picture is the famed Philippine Tarsier. It is the smallest primate in the world. It can actually fit into the palm of a human hand. Tarsiers have large eyes and long limbs which give them the appearence of being "Alien." The Tarsier's head and body range from 10 to 15 cm in length only. Their hind limbs, including their feet are about twice this long. Their tale is slender and ranges from 20 to 25 cm long. Many believe that the Tarsier is a form of monkey. This is a generally accepted misnomer, however. The Tarsier is classified as being closely related to lemurs, lorises and bushbabies. Hold one in your hand at it will be easy to understand why the Tarsier is such a loveable creature!!!

The Tarsier is a protected species.
